Martin James Clark, age 71, of Midland City, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Flowers Hospital.
Martin was born August 28, 1954, in Georgia, to James Clark and Beth Spurlock Clark. He worked in sales for many years. In his spare time, Martin was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed the outdoors, as well as Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard Clark.
Survivors include his sons, Christopher Clark (Karen) and James Clark (Allison); his grandchildren, Aden Clark, Ava Clark, and Alex Clark; and his brothers, Rhett Clark and Richard Clark.
Stephen Gary Smith, 68 years old of Ozark Alabama, passed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 18, 2025.
Stephen was born in Kinston, North Carolina on July 5, 1957 to Frank and Ida Drucille Owens Smith. He moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1960 where he lived and attended school until 1968 when the family moved to Toms River, New Jersey. He attended Tom’s River High School North through his junior year and returned to graduate from Dothan High School in 1976. Upon graduation, he worked for Southeast Alabama Medical Center in security and later as a respiratory technician. He moved to Orlando, FL where he lived for many years. He worked for Rosie O’Grady’s/Church Street Station as a singing waiter and stilt walker, and later for Mears Transportation Group where he engaged and served tourists from throughout the world. He earned his degree in accounting from Florida Polytechnic University and worked as an accounting coordinator for Kenton Smith Advertising & Public Relations, and later as an accountant for the Wyndham Hotel with posts in Orlando, Atlanta and Indianapolis. His career also included a stint for Jeld-Wenn in Central Florida and in Ozark Al. Prior to his retirement in 2022, he worked briefly for Walmart in Ozark. In his earlier years, Steve was actively engaged in community theatre with leading roles in several musicals. He loved music, singing and playing the piano. He also loved his cats and was affectionately known as “the catfather” to Thor, Dusty, Jill, Trouble, Vader and Bridger.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; sister Brenda Marsh (Phillip) and brother Michael Smith of Dothan.
His living siblings include Frank Larry Smith (Joyce) and Sandy Burnett of UT; Kenneth Smith (Wanda) of FL; and Debra Hayes (Roysce) of Ozark. Steve has many beloved nieces and nephews including Craig Smith, Amy Laurilla, Frank Davis, Kevin Smith, Brittany Hayes, Scott Marsh, Brian Marsh, Jeffry Marsh, Slade Marsh all of the greater Dothan area; Wendy Smith of VA; Tyler Hayes of NY; Chelsea Cook of CO; Terrell Burnett of UT; Julie Nagai-Burt of NV; Kenzi Burnett of PA; Jason Nye of OH; Jennifer Lipsey of TX; Kyle Smith of FL; Ashley Ellsworth of NC; Ammon Hayes of WA; along with many more relatives in the Dothan/Ozark area and from throughout the country.
The family extends grateful appreciation to friends for their prayers, encouragement and loving support, along with the outstanding doctors, caregivers and expert medical team at SE Health including Dr. Joshua Bentley and staff, and the outstanding nursing team of the Neuro Critical Care unit who demonstrated great care and compassion for Steve in his final few weeks following his hemorrhagic stroke.
The family will host a celebration of life in January of 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ozark.
James “Big Jim” Williamsen, a man known for his kindness and zest for life, passed away at Southeast Health on December 18, 2025. Born on May 3, 1957, Big Jim lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 PM in the chapel. James was preceded in death by his father, Richard Williamsen; brother, Billy Williamsen; grandparents, Stephen and Gieneve Williamsen; grandmother, Dorie Bussee; and stepfather, Lance Pippin and his beloved fur baby, Sassie, who was his constant companion.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 and a half years, Carolyn, and his son, Nathan Williamsen (Kathy) of Graniteville, SC; sisters, Teri Lawson (Randy) of Forestville, WI, Lynda Monske (Richard) of Oconto, WI, and Mallory Martin (Kevin) of Greenbay, WI; brothers, Robert Williamsen, Randy Williamsen (Linda) of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Williamsen (Jodie) of Gillette, WY, and David Quilling (Karen) of Greenbay, WI; grandson, Cade Williamsen, Slidell, LA; brother-in-laws James Jones (Mary Ellen) of Newville, AL; Ricky Lovell (Reneau) of Dothan, AL; as well as his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A retired superintendent from JAH Design and Construction, Big Jim was well respected within his profession, not only for his skilled oversight, but also for the personal connections he developed with his colleagues. His work ethic was unparalleled and he took great pride in contributing to the growth and integrity of the structures he oversaw.
Beyond his career achievements, Big Jim reveled in riding his ATV through the trails in Wisconsin, an activity that embodied his love for adventure and the great outdoors. His family meant the world to him and this family man made every moment with them count, creating a treasure trove of memories that will be cherished forever. As an avid Alabama and Green Bay Packers football fan, he shared his enthusiasm and team spirit with everyone around him, showing that his dedication never wavered whether it was to his family, his work, or his favorite team.
His warmth, reliability, and kindness are etched in the hearts of those he leaves behind. A true patriarch, his guidance and love anchored those around him. His absence will be profoundly felt, yet his influence will continue to resonate in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
As an organ donor, Big Jim’s final act was one of profound kindness—a testament to the generous nature that those around him knew so well. He left a legacy of life even in his passing.
Treavon LaKeith Blackmon, known affectionately as Trea to his family and friends, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the young age of 19. Born on May 27, 2006, in Dothan, Alabama, Treavon was a beacon of joy and friendliness in the lives of all who knew him.
Treavon’s journey began as the cherished son of Keith and Jennifer Blackmon, and he grew up alongside his beloved brother, Kejuan Lamar Blackmon. He was blessed with the love and wisdom of his grandmothers, Mary Burks and Odesta Blackmon, who nurtured his kind-hearted nature. Though his grandfathers, John L. Burks and Willie C. Blackmon, preceded him in death, their influence and memories remained a guiding light in Treavon’s life. He also shared a special bond with his uncles, Daniel Webster, Robert (Brittany) Robinson, and Jonathan (Wynther) Robinson, and held dear the memory of his deceased cousin, DeShawn Campbell.
Treavon’s education culminated as a proud 2025 graduate of Dothan High School, where his enthusiasm and love for life left an indelible mark on both the school and his classmates. His passions extended beyond the classroom; Treavon was a veritable dancing machine, often found grooving to the music of Michael Jackson, whom he admired greatly. His vibrant personality was matched by his colorful attire; he was always impeccably dressed in suits, hats, and shoes that reflected his old soul and his favorite color, orange.
Friends were never far from Treavon’s side, with Javarius Burden and Cedric sharing in countless joyful and heartfelt moments. His infectious happiness, love for funny movies, and the ease with which he made acquaintances earned him a reputation for never having met a stranger. Treavon’s biggest aspiration was to restore his granddaddy’s black GMC truck, a project that spoke to his determination and connection to his family’s heritage.
Treavon’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and an unwavering positive spirit. He was the embodiment of friendliness and love, always ready with a smile and a kind word for anyone in need. His memory will be treasured and held close in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
The Blackmon family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss. Treavon’s memory will continue to inspire joy and kindness, just as he did every day of his far-too-short but incredibly impactful life. Though he has departed from this world, Treavon LaKeith Blackmon’s spirit will forever dance in the lives of those he touched.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Napier Field…Danny Keith Mims, a resident of Napier Field died Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at his residence. He was 68.
In honoring Keith’s wishes, there will be no services planned. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations in charge of arrangements.
Keith was born in Dothan son of Ruby Ward Mims of Headland, and the late Cooper Mims. He was a 1976 Graduate of Dale County High School and played on the school basketball team. Keith was a lifelong resident of Napier Field and very involved in his community. He ran their heavy equipment machinery and served on the Volunteer Fire Department. Keith was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors other than his mother are his daughter Michelle Mims Jenkins (Dean), grandson, Grant Jenkins all of Headland, his sister Starla Mims Bowling (Bruce) of Childersburg, a niece, Kaitlin Martin (Bobby) of Cullman and his nephew, Adam Bowling of Harpersville.
