Ms. Betty Sue (Sansbury) Kernodle, 83, a resident of Midland City (formerly of Wicksburg), passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Southeast Health following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Daleville Church of God, (122 Industrial Blvd., Daleville, Al. 36322) with Reverend Steven Smith and Reverend Donald Sansbury officiating. Burial will follow at Wicksburg Assembly of God Church with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
Flowers will be accepted.
Ms. Kernodle was born February 7, 1942, in Port St. Joe, Florida, the daughter of Oliver James & Euna Mae (Gilley) Sansbury. She spent the early years of her life in Wicksburg and was a graduate of Wicksburg High School. Betty attended Wallace Community College and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant Certification. She worked at Dothan Manufacturing for 24 years and as a insurance clerk with Southern Bone and Joint for 8 years. Betty was a member of Daleville Church of God.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Joe Kernodle; her grandson, Trent Lewis; 2 sisters, Nadine McConnell and Shirley Nelson; 2 brothers, James Sansbury and George Sansbury.
She is survived by her son, James E. Lewis, Jr. of Pensacola, FL; her grandson, Kevin Lewis of Buford, GA; her two brothers, Reverend Donald Sansbury (Sandra) of Griffin, GA, and Lamar Sansbury of Wicksburg; three sisters, Mary Ann Brown of Enterprise, Linda Hobbs (Wayne) of Level Plains, and Donna Mauldin of Wicksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

ABBEVILLE. . .Juanita Taylor Bronson, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Sunday night, February 1, 2026, in St. Francis-Emory Healthcare in Columbus, Georgia. She was 68.

Juanita Bronson was born in Tampa, Florida and moved with her family to Eufaula as a child. She lived in Eufaula before moving to Henry County in 1985. Juanita was formerly employed by Cutler Egg Products in Abbeville, Hummingbird in Eufaula and Cooper Lighting in Eufaula. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Taylor Dykes, and a sister, Joanne Duiven.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John Phillip Bronson; a daughter, Beverly Dykes, Napier Field; a brother, Jason Taylor (Toni), Eufaula; grandsons, Devin Wilson (Ashley), Joshua Blount and Tyler Blount; great-grandchildren, Brantley Wilson, Waylon Wilson, Brody Wilson, Jade Colella and Jax Colella.

DOTHAN… Rhoda Ann Granberry, a resident Westside Terrace in Dothan, Alabama, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at a Dothan hospital. She was 79.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday February 03, 2026 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M..
Ms. Granberry was born in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Ralph Key and Ruby Lucille Monk Key. A lifelong resident of the area, she graduated from Dothan High School in 1964. She devoted many years of her life to working as a seamstress at West Point Pepperell, where her strong hands and steady dedication reflected her caring heart. She later worked at McLane Company and, in the years that followed, lovingly served as a sitter, offering comfort, patience, and companionship to those in her care.
Ms. Granberry was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church in Dothan, where her quiet faith and gentle spirit were evident to all who knew her. She found peace and happiness in her garden, spending countless hours tending her flower beds and taking pride in the beauty she created. She also enjoyed cheering on Alabama football.
More than anything else in this world, Ms. Granberry loved her family. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. They were the light of her life, and her love for them will forever live on in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by 1 sister and 4 brothers.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Tracy Lee Williams; son, Jeffery Lee (Marianne); grandchildren, Hannah Lamb (Matt), Seth Williams (Mara), Parker Williams, Ana Grace Lee; great grandchildren, Lilly Carnes, Rhodes Lamb, Tate Williams, Brooks Williams; several other loving family members and friends.
