HOUSTON COUNTY: Late this afternoon retired Houston County Sheriff Lamar Glover passed away late this afternoon.
Sheriff Glover has been suffering from an extended illness. Sunset Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangement which have not been announced at this time.
Following Lamar Glover’s long time service with Alabama State Troopers, he ran for Sheriff of Houston County. He remained in that post from 1983 to 1995.
A long time member and deacon of Southside Baptsit Chuch, he and his wife were very active and some of the strong backbone to Southside Baptist Church. He love his wife, daughter and granddaughter. He also enjoyed his farm.
