Henry County 911 dispatched Headland Fire-Rescue, Houston County 911 dispatched Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department to Headland Elementary School to a fire alarm. Headland Fireman/Dothan Fireman/Columbia Volunteer Fireman Ethan Wilkerson is the on scene commander. There is no smoke or flames visible.
The children were removed from the school to outside of the school because of the fire alarm sounding. Kinsey Volunteer Fire is an automatic aid to Headland Fire-Rescue, as Headland Fire-Rescue an automatic aid to Kinsey Volunteer Fire on reports of a structure fire.
Headland Police and Headland Director of Department of Public Safety, Mark Jones were on the scene. Fireman checked and no fire detected.

HOUSTON COUNTY: On Friday Alabama State Representative Paul Lee made a special visit to Houston County School Supt. Brandy White and coaches.
The coaches and Supt. White were in a meeting at the Career Center. Representaitve Paul Lee walked in and presented the Houston County School Athletic Association with a check for $ 25,000.00. This will be divided equally to each school in the Houston County system.
Rep. Lee said he knows how much the athletic program means to the youth and keeping them occupied and out of trouble. Lee told teh coaches this funding does not replace any exising funding but is in addition to existing funding.
The Enterprise Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Tevin Tyrell Brooks. Mr. Brooks is a 33-year-old black male and is believed to be living with a condition that may impair his judgement. He was last seen on January 2, 2026, at approximately 12:00 pm in the area of Dale County Road 1 in Level Plains. Mr. Brooks was last seen wearing a black or brown hoodie and black sweatpants. Emergency crews responded to a reported structure fire on Hickory Court in Webb after smoke was observed coming from a residence in the neighborhood.
Firefighters arrived on scene and worked to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes. Thick smoke could be seen in the area as crews battled the fire and conducted overhaul operations to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries. The extent of damage to the home has not yet been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be provided by officials once the scene has been fully cleared.

WEBB: 10:32 AM. Houston County 911 dispatched a structure fire at 133 Hickory Court in Webb. Webb Volunteer Fire, Kinsey Volunteer Fire, Ashford Rescue, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Webb Police responding.
On the arrival of Eddie Hamm, Webb Volunteer Fireman, he reported smoke coming from each end of the house.
10:41 AM. Webb Volunteer Fireman Eddie Hamm reported water on fire.
Renea Myers, 63, of Pansey, Alabama, was born on December 16, 1962, and passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Renea was born to her parents, Floyd Mason and Virginia Perkins. She was a graduate of Houston County Schools.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 20 years, John Myers; her children Derick Creekmore (Elizabeth), Kelly Harrison, Isaiah Myers, and Kate Holley; and her cherished grandchildren Tenley and Blakelynn Creekmore, Harrison Brown, Jeremiah and Gabriel Myers, Kye, Aiden, Emma, and Norah Lynn Holley. She is also survived by her siblings Sharon Stevens, Bobby Willis, James Willis, and Lynnette Mason.
Renea was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris; and her precious granddaughter, Kennedie Brown—who was waiting with open arms.
Throughout her life, Renea held many jobs, but her true calling was caring for others. She helped raise many children over the years and was in the process of obtaining custody of her granddaughters before her diagnosis. For over ten years, she faithfully served at Watermark Preschool, where she consistently loved and nurtured every child who walked through the doors. Her kindness left a lasting impact on countless families.
Renea will be remembered for her warm smile, her giving heart, and her loud, joyful laugh that could be heard for miles. She loved deeply, lived selflessly, and leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue through all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Watermark church in Ashford, Alabama.
