GENEVA – DALE COUNTY: 12:40 PM. Bellwood Volunteer Fire Department is on the scene of Highway 167 and County Road 85 at a LPG gas leak.
This intersection is in Dale County but a stone’s throw from Geneva County. Not sure, but possibly Hartford Fire – Rescue is also on the scene.
Units on the scene have called for Dale County Emergency Management Agency to respond.
The Geneva County agencies have a mutual aid agreement with Dale County on handling matters at this location. This is in the far southern end of Dale County before entering into Geneva County.

REHOBETH: 12:20 PM. As of right now the Rehobeth Christmas Parade is a GO! In text with Rehobeth Mayor Kimberly Trotter, who is keeping a close vigil on the weather, the rain is expected to move out by 2 PM.
The parade will begin at 5 PM and events will run from 5 PM until 8 PM. The parade will kick off at 5 PM, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM Holiday Craft In The Park, 6:30 PM Mayor’s Welcome, 6:40 PM Lighting of the Christmas Tree, 6:50 PM Rehobeth Elementary Choir Performance, and 8:00 PM Raffle Tickets available all night from the Rehobeth Fire Department and Rehobeth Quaterback drawing.
Parade lineup entrance is through the South Park entrance to Rehobeth High School parking lot. Line up at 4:00 PM. The parade will turn right out of the high school parking lot promptly at 5:00 PM and follow the parade route. The parade will end at the elementary school. Parade entrants will turn right in to the North car line to exit parade route and continue to back of the school to unload.
Parade will start at 5 PM at Rehobeth High School and end at the Rehobeth Park. Christmas Festival will follow immediately after the parade.
MADRID – HOUSTON COUNTY – DOTHAN: 07:50 AM. Houston County 911 dispatched Cottonwood Rescue and Houston County Sheriff Deputies to Madrid to a child not breathing. Cottonwood Rescue requested Rehobeth Rescue also respond reference advanced life support.
On arrival to the scene it was a load and go to Southeast Health, emergency transport, CPR in progress with medics of Rehobeth and Cottonwood fighting for this child.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Dothan Police Department are catching intersections blocking traffic so the ambulance does not have to yield and stop waiting to make sure the intersection is clear.
08:16 AM Rehobeth EMS and Cottonwood Rescue have arrived at Southeast Health.
ARITON – DALE COUNTY: 07:56 AM. Ozark – Dale County dispatched EMS and Dale County Sheriff Department to the Ariton area, patient not breathing – CPR in progress. The call is an adult.
On arrival of emergency units, CPR discontinued and person is deceased.
Prayer for patients, families, EMS, law enforcement and the 911 Centers. The 911 dispatchers are trained to try and calm the caller and step them through CPR instructions while EMS and law enforcement respond. The 911 Centers are the bridge between the caller and- law enforcement – fire – EMS. The calmness of the 911 Center, whether a 911 call or officer/fire/EMS yelling for help keeps the situations calm and not chaotic.
Over a decade ago when two Dothan Police Officers were shot while walking into HOBO Pantry on East Main Street and Beverlye Road, the Dothan Police Chief told the 911 Centers to remain calm. That their calmness will keep all involved calm. If they lost it and were overly excited then all on the radio would loose it. And that has rang in my head for decades. In that situation the officer, who is now a Sergeant with Dothan Police Department, casually walking into the store for a cup of coffee. The store was being robbed at the time, unknown to the officers. As the officers walked into the store the gunman, who was hiding behind the counter, rose up firing at the officers, striking one of the officers. The officer, ambushed, after shot pulled his weapon and shot the suspect. The officer shot is alive and well. His partner was an officer in training, who also reacted. But after that the trainee decided law enforcement was not for him.
This morning, adjoining counties, both 911 Centers, law enforcement and EMS all met with same type calls within six minutes of each other – patient not breathing – CPR in progress. The 911 dispatchers are not seen, they get little to no media coverage. But the 911 dispatchers ARE THE GLUE to keep emergencies running smooth and rolling immediate help. And the more information they obtain and inform the required emergency units, means the difference, often times, of the emergency units going home safe, the citizens lives being saved, and the persons reporting remaining calm. THANK YOU to all emergency units, most especially the 911 Centers.
DOTHAN: Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies were jointly involved in a high risk traffic stop in the area of Ross Clark Circle and Wesley Way around midnight.
VIA TEXT RICKEY 334-790-1739: Crazy chase from West main to camping world. Silver Charger. They must have tossed something out the window around Wesley way, as there were several cops stopped and searching the roadside with flashlights.
Subjects did not stop, immediately. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop. Three subjects were in vehicle. At least one or more had outstanding arrest warrants.
Officers looked in area of travel and area where they threw something from vehicle. Unknown what or if officers found anything.
DOTHAN: 11:26 PM. Dothan 911 dispatched to 1462 East Burdeshaw Street. At the time of dispatch reports to Dothan 911 smoke visible in kitchen, no flames visible. At time of dispatch Dothan 911 informed responding units that one person had burns.
On arrival of the first Dothan Fire Engine they reported nothing visible and all incoming units go to level 1 staging. Level 1 staging means for incoming engines to stand by on arrival at fire hydrants and ready to deploy for an aggressive offensive attach while the primary engine investigates.
Shortly after arrival the primary engine reported medical treatment to a patient that had burns on both arms. The burns were from a grease fire. Dothan Fire Engine 1 and Pilcher Ambulance transported one patient, trauma alert, to Southeast Health in Dothan.
A fire prevention officer was notified of the injuries.
