5:15 P.M.: Structure fire on Willie Raley Road in Webb

Fire units are responding to a structure fire on Willie Raley Road in Webb.

Flames were visible before fire units arrived, but reports indicate the structure at 265 Willie Raley Road is now fully involved.

Kinsey Fire, Webb Fire, Columbia Fire, and Headland Fire responded. Kinsey Police, Webb Police, and Houston County Sheriffs are on the scene.

Dothan local roads closed

Effective January 21, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., all city streets and bridges within the City of Dothan should be considered IMPASSABLE AND CLOSED until further notice. Citizens are advised that all travel should be suspended or delayed until further notice.

Only citizens involved with critical infrastructure or essential personnel should travel on city streets until further notice. All other residents should shelter in place.

All roads closed in all Wiregrass counties

All roads in Wiregrass counties have been declared closed/impassable.

All roads in Houston County will be closed at 3 p.m.

All bridges on the west side of Houston County are iced over and cars are sliding.

Dale, Coffee, Covington, Geneva and Henry Counties have also declared roads impassable.

Most roads will be closed until at least noon tomorrow.

All agencies are urging people to stay off the roads unless you absolutely MUST be on the roads. Law enforcement agencies are still taking reports by phone.

Elba and Enterprise have also said all roads are closed.

Dothan City employee dies in overnight fire in Pinckard

A Dothan City employee died in an overnight fire in Pinckard.

Caleb Green, age 37, was killed on the fire, according to Dale County Coroner John Cawley. He was an employee with the City of Dothan.

The fire was at the 900 block of Forest Drive at about 4:30 this morning, Cawley said. Preliminary investigations point to the stove possibly being left on overnight.

Rescue units are responding to a critical wreck at Deese Road and South Union Avenue in Ozark.

The Enterprise Rescue helicopter was requested, but injuries are currently unclear. Units arriving on the scene indicated the wreck looked bad.

Initial reports indicated road blockage.

Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum is on-scene.

Enterprise Air is set to land on Parker Drive.

Emergency units are currently responding to a critical wreck on Highway 84 near Bluff Springs Road.

Highway 84 was shut down at Bluff Springs Road. At least ten vehicles are involved.

Initial reports indicated multiple vehicles involved.

Visibility is almost zero due to heavy smoke and fog.

UPDATE: No fatalities are reported. About 12 vehicles involved. At least one person has been taken to the hospital.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Houston County Commissioner Tracy Adams, Houston County Chief Deputy Carlisle and President of Houston County Volunteer Fire Chiefs Association Reneau are all on scene. Ashford Police, Kinsey Police, Houston County Sheriffs and ALEA Troopers are on scene.

A patch of fog and smoke lowered visibility to zero in the area. At present, the eastbound lane of Highway 84 is blocked.
