Danne Proctor, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Sunday, November 23,2025 at Extendicare Health and Rehab. She was 91.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Danne was born to the late Walter and Annie Perkins Nichols on September 30, 1934. After graduating from Malone High School in 1951, she began a career in Optometry, working many years for Dothan Optical before her retirement. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Danne will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and four sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are a son, John Proctor (Karen); two daughters, Carla Kirkland (Marc) and Becky Davis (Roger); six grandchildren, Colby Kirkland (Megan), Savannah Robertson (Jacob), Rebecca Mueller (Joseph), Josh Pipkin, Annie Pipkin, and Emily Pipkin; five great grandchildren, McKenzie Kirkland, Chloe Kirkland, Jaxon Bullock, Beau Grammont, Amelia Pipkin, Raeleigh Robertson, and Leighton Robertson.

Jordan “Boo” Marie Robinson, a vibrant soul whose laughter and joy touched everyone around her, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born on August 14, 1997, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Jordan lived a life shaped by deep family bonds, resilience, and love.
Jordan is survived by her two children, Rose Juliette and Roland Jude of Orlando, Florida; and her parents, JoAnne Ramsey Carr (Jim) of Midland City and Ernest Tshombe Robinson of Dothan. Jordan was the granddaughter of Elaine Miller Ramsey and Eugene Butler Ramsey of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Pamela Mack Robinson and Ernest Scott Robinson of Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Georgia Genson Ramsey.
Jordan is also survived by her siblings, Shelby Hallford, Zac Carr, Daniel Carr, Jalana Robinson, T.J. Robinson, and Ju-Ju, who will always remember her quick smile and adventurous spirit. Her extended family including many uncles, aunts, cousins, and in-laws from Alabama, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Tennessee, Illinois, South Carolina, Florida, and Germany; and her faithful pet, Oreo.
Jordan graduated from Northview High School in 2016. She went on to earn an Associate’s degree in Mathematics and became a licensed cosmetologist from Wallace Community College in 2018, where she was named to the Fall Semester Dean’s List. She proudly participated in JROTC Army, developing leadership skills she carried throughout her life.
She worked at La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant and shared her cosmetology talents with SmartStyle and Ulta Beauty. As a stylist for weddings and special occasions, Jordan used her creativity to help others feel confident and beautiful. She enjoyed paddleboarding, archery, and fishing—activities that reflected her appreciation for nature and time spent outdoors.
A member of Greater Sardis MBC in Ozark, Alabama, Jordan’s faith guided her life. Her family extends heartfelt appreciation to the owners, management, and staff of La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant in Dothan and Ruby’s Restaurant in Abbeville for their support.
A memorial service to celebrate Jordan’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Greater Sardis MBC, located at 707 West Reynolds Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360. As we gather to honor her memory, we find solace in the words of Revelation 21:4 KJV, “[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Jordan “Boo” Marie Robinson’s spirit, though no longer with us in body, will continue to inspire and guide us through the legacy of love and joy she has left behind.
FJ Swain, a resident of Webb, Alabama died Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

FJ was born to the late JB and Ruby Mulkey Swain on September 8, 1947 in Pike County, Alabama. After graduating from Charles Henderson High School, he joined the military, serving his country in the United States Army, following his service he attended Troy University where he majored in Business and minored in Commercial Arts. FJ began his career at Southeast Health in medical records retiring after twenty-three years. His hobbies included painting art, running grandaddy day care and working in his yards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Preston Swain; and a sister, Hazel Bell.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Sonja Moats Swain; two daughters, Brooke Childree (Josh) and Allison Swain; four grandchildren, Joey Phillips-Dannels, Carson Swain, Graysen Childree and Alayna Childree; one brother, MJ Swain; three sisters, Betty Hudley (Fred), Frankie Nelson (Earl), and Martha Crawley.

Billie Sue Fryer Parish, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her friends and family. She was 82 years old.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Alabama, with Dr. Larry Teasley officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Billie Sue was born on July 9, 1943, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late William Olen “Billy” and Tura Green Fryer. At the age of 6, Billie Sue moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Billie Sue was an accomplished artist and enjoyed being with her family and her fur babies. Billie Sue was also an avid Auburn Football fan, “War Eagle!” She was a member of Clayton Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Wendy Ketura Witherington.
Survivors include her loving husband, Joseph Edward Parish, Sr. of Clayton; two sons, William Allen Witherington, III (Robin) of Newnan, GA, and Ed Parish (Julie) of Montgomery; daughter, Laney Gulledge (Paul) of Clayton; two brothers, Lynwood Green Fryer (Mana Moreles) of Bocas Del Toro, Panama, and Jeff Fryer (Kim) of Phenix City; seven grandchildren, Will Witherington, Alli Witherington, Brooke Witherington, Paul Gulledge (Julie), Angela Taylor (Hollis), Lauren Parish, and Morgan Parish, five great-grandchildren, Makayla Gulledge, Parker Gulledge, Avery Brooke Gulledge, Carter Taylor, and Ryder Taylor; and her aunt, Erma Wilson.

David Edward “Ed” Willis, age 80, passed away November 22, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.
Ed was born on January 15, 1945, to David and Anna Willis. He proudly served his country, enlisting in the United States Army in 1963. He was stationed in Thailand in the Communications Division and received an honorable discharge in 1967. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and qualified as a Sharpshooter on both the Carbine and M-14 rifle.
After leaving the military, Ed began his career at Ft. Rucker, where he worked until a major layoff in 1973. He then joined Couch Concrete, dedicating 28 and a half years to the company before retiring. Retirement didn’t suit him for long—“staying home” simply wasn’t in his vocabulary—so he returned to Ft. Rucker with DynCorp, where he continued working until retiring again at age 62.
Ed was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, Martha Jean Adams Willis, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, David & Angel Willis and Michael & Tammy Willis; his brothers, Sammy Willis (Francis) and Jeffy Willis (Michelle); and his sister, Pam Hughes (Bibb).
He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: John David Willis (Courtney), Cassie Willis, Gage Willis (Jacey), Zane Willis, and Haley Gonzalez (Nelson “Tito”).
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Mary Ellen Willis, Emma Gonzalez, Thais Gonzalez, and Nellie Gonzalez.
Ed is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
The family would like to give a special thank you to caregivers Cassandra White and Helen Granger, who became part of their extended family. Deep appreciation is also extended to Day Springs Hospice and nurse Raegan for their compassion and care.
Ed was known for his humor, his storytelling, and the way he could make anyone feel welcome. He especially adored his grandchildren—nothing brought him more joy than making them laugh. To know Ed was to love him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Anna Willis.
The family will be at the home of Ed & Martha Willis in Newton, Alabama.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Hughes officiating. Ed will be laid to rest in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Hammers, Milton McKnight, Joe Juddah, Gary Thompson, Chris Cureton and Chris Clardy.
Marsha Watford, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama died Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in Cowarts Baptist Church with Reverend Joshua Watford and Reverend Jonathan Sorensen officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.
Marsha was born to the late Clyde and Ida Smith Thomas on May 22, 1937. After graduating high school, she began a career as a secretary working for The Dothan Eagle, later becoming the secretary at Ashford Academy and finally as secretary for Cowarts Baptist Church before her retirement. Her hobbies included reading her Bible, crocheting and needle point. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Cowarts Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Dick Gunnels; and a sister, Janice Claire Thomas Parmer.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of sixty nine years, John Dewey Watford; a son, John Michael Watford (Pam); a grandson, Joshua Watford (Rebecca); two great grandsons, Judah and Josiah Watford; two sisters, Rose Watford and Lynn Bauldree (Mike); a brother, Charlie Thomas (Barbara); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
