Danny E. Jones, age 82, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on May 24, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of service, devotion, and love that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Born on April 29, 1944, in Mississippi, Danny carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance throughout his life

Danny proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and commitment to duty. He made the first combat jump in Vietnam in 1967. He also served as a jump master and was assigned with the 84th Engineers, where he contributed with honor and professionalism.

After retiring from the Army, Danny continued to serve his community through his work with the City of Dothan, where he spent 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. He approached his work with the same dependability and strong work ethic that defined every part of his life.

Danny found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing, pastimes that gave him peace and happiness. Whether he was on the open road or spending quiet time by the water, he appreciated the moments that allowed him to relax and enjoy the world around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Rachael Jones.

Danny is survived by his wife, Diane Jones; his son, David Jones; his daughter, Donna Guevara; and his three grandchildren, Lindsey, Alexis, and Anthony. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished the time he spent with them. He leaves behind a lasting example of devotion, strength, and love that will continue to guide them in the years ahead.

Danny E. Jones will be remembered as a man of honor and heart, someone who served his country faithfully, worked diligently for his community, and loved his family deeply. His life was one of purpose and commitment, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
