ABBEVILLE: 8:35 PM Somewhere around 8:30 PM Headland 911 dispatched a pedestrian struck by vehicle call on Highway 27, Ozark Road. It was in front of Abbeville Milling Company.
Abbeville Fire – Rescue, Abbeville Police and Henry County Sheriff Deputies responded. When emergency units arrived a female was laying in the roadway deceased.
Abbeville Police Chief Marlos Walker and Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship responded. ALEA – Trooper Homicide unit wsa called into the scene to assist.
This is a hit and run accident. Anyone who lives along that pathway that has cameras or RING door bell cameras are urged to contact Abbeville Police. Anyone with information is urged to contact Abbeville Police Department. No matter how important your information might seem or unimportant your information is to seem, let law enforcement make that decision. You might have the eact information they are looking for in locating the suspect vehicle.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright was notified and responded to the scene. The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators conducted a detailed investigation.

Henry County Coroner Derek Wright has released the name of the deceased as 46 year old Brandy Duncan.
FROM ABBEVILLE POLICE CHIEF MARLOS WALKER
tonight in the 100 block of Ozark Road.
Between approximately 8:20 p.m. and 8:40 p.m., 911 dispatch received a call reporting a person
lying in the roadway in the 100 block of Ozark Road. When emergency personnel arrived, they
located an injured white female in the roadway. Her injuries appeared consistent with being
struck by a vehicle.
The victim was deceased upon the arrival of emergency personnel. She was pronounced
deceased at approximately 9:00 p.m. by Coroner Derek Wright.
The victim’s body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in
Montgomery for further examination and an autopsy.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. They are
reviewing available video footage and speaking with individuals who may have been in the area
or may have information about what occurred during that time.
The Abbeville Police Department is asking anyone with information, video footage, or
knowledge of a possible vehicle or driver involved to contact dispatch at 334-585-2222. Ask to
speak with an investigator or request an officer to respond to your location to receive the
information.
Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could assist investigators.
