10:31 AM. Mayor Mark Saliba and Police Chief Benny Meet In Tuscaloosa

DOTHAN – TUSCALOOSA:    This past week Dothan Police Chief Will Benny and Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba traveled to Tuscaloosa Alabama. They met with Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox and members of Tuscaloosa Police Department. Some members of Dothan Police Department also attended this meeting which included Dothan Police Lt. Schwab.

They toured and were briefed on the Cyber Intelligence Unit.

Public Safety is the top priority of Mayor Saliba, the members of Dothan Commission and Dothan Police Chief Will Benny.

Recently at a Dothan Commission Meeting D3 Commissioner Bradley Bedwell brought up the Cyber Intelligence Unit and desires for this project to move forward.

Mayor Saliba and Chief Benny have also toured other departments Cyber Intelligence Unit. It is their desire because in the times today law enforcement has to use all tools possible to stay ahead of time.

Under the leadership of Dothan Police Chief Will Benny a lot of proactive tools have been implemented to stay on top of crime. Some challengers of incumbents on Dothan Commission have said crime is out of control which is false statement. Crime is actually down. Also since 2021 Chief Will Benny, with the blessings of former Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper, current City Manager Randy Morris, Mayor Mark Saliba, Associate Commissioners Kevin Dorsey, Aristotle Kirkland, Bradley Bedwell, John Ferguson, Gant Pearce, and Davis Crutchfield, Dothan Police Department has increased by 50 officers to a force of 200.

Under the current leadership the salary for police officers has increased to retain officers. A police academy at Wiregrass Training Center to train officers locally. And several intelligence systems in place, of which I will not disclose, to help be proactive on crime.

This trip to Tuscaloosa is one of many projects this police chief, this Mayor, this commission has going to protect the citizens in Dothan.

9:41 PM. Henry County – Car Goes Off Road

HENRY COUNTY:   About 9:00 PM a vehicle was traveling west on Highway 10 from Shorterville towards Abbeville. They lone female driver came up on a tree in the road and she suddenly went to the right off the roadway in the ditch.

Behind her was off duty Dothan Fireman – Headland Fire – Rescue, volunteer with Columbia Fire – Rescue Ethan Wilkerson and some friends.

Ethan and friends jumped out of the truck and into the ditch and checked on the lady. They helped her from the vehicle and made sure she was ok. They called for Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Abbeville Rescue.

Ethan got his chainsaw out and cut the tree from the roadway.

Abbeville Police, Henry CountySheriff Department, ALEA Trooper Aaron Sanders and Abbeville Rescue responded.

The lady was shook up but not injured.

THANK YOU to Ethan and friends for putting someone else before self. If they had not been behind her there is no telling how long she would have been there because you could not see the vehicle from the roadway.

06:25 AM. From Scott Childers – Dothan School Board Chair

06:25 AM. From Scott Childers – Dothan School Board Chair

DOTHAN:     From Scott Childers, Chair of Dothan School Board:

$27,530.25.

I wrote that check tonight. From my account, not some public account. I guess that’s the price I pay for voluntarily serving on the DCS school board, and standing against the corrupt agenda of those that don’t care about us.

It’s not about me, but I would say I’ve earned your support and trust. I’m pretty sure this payment proves my dedication to Dothan. Don’t elevate me as a person, but know that you can count on my leadership as guidance for what you need to know.

Many of you know that the superintendent and four board majority filed an official Censure of me a few months ago. Four board members and a superintendent decided to collude an effort to discredit me, which could have kept me from being ineligible from the next election.

In fact, our past superintendent was so courteous to immediately forward the censure effort to the state education superintendent, who immediately responded with a warning that I could be the third person ever to be disqualified from an election. The state superintendent has not contacted me for my side of the story to this very day. But he sure was quick to send that threat. You can judge for yourself what kind of politics are going on at the state level. That’s another concern that I’m not in the middle of fighting.

The “censure” was a formal disapproval of me, by the board majority and superintendent. Citing a handful of examples during two board meetings.

Most people that observed these two board meetings actually would have been more observant of…

– the outlandish tactics and a public hijacking that the four board majority and superintendent assumed.

– the insane disregard for public sentiment, and obvious schemery of effort.

-the majority of the live crowd that was vocal in support of how we were standing against their collusion.

-so many other details of that meetings that would make this posting too long. Board meeting videos are public, feel free to watch.

Did you know that four board members could get together on an agenda and there was absolutely no accountability above what they decide? If the superintendent provided the guidance and the four board majority went along, I have learned that there is nothing that can be done to stop their agenda. That’s why there’s so much discussion about the importance of the upcoming election!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please know those exclamation marks are to draw your attention to the upcoming election.

The details of my censure included two pages and a handful of accusations. Not one example listed carried any legal consequence. I quickly recognized that, but new it was time to get a personal attorney to put an end to their attacks.

I decided to go get the best attorney in the state, knowing his representation would put an end to all this. And it worked!

If not they would have just moved from this attack to the next, to the next, to the next. That’s what they do.

When they realized that my attorney was going after them individually, because of their colluded effort, the follow-up vote on my censure suddenly disappeared from the board agenda. The day before the board meeting!

Everything just moved forward like it never happened. And that’s why you haven’t heard anything about it. Till now! That’s what they do. The same thing you see on TV is happening right here in Dothan.

I feel I needed to share that because the upcoming election is so important. You must recognize what the four board majority has been doing and you must respond appropriately on August 5th. It’s your city, it’s your taxes, it’s your economic arena, and it’s your children.

Let me say it again, just to make sure you know. It’s your city, it’s your taxes, it’s your economic arena, and it’s your children. Unfortunately, you can’t know all the details of this stuff like I do. But if you will trust me, I’ll assure you I will lead you in the right direction. If you don’t listen to me, we’re completely screwed!

On another note…

Now we have a new superintendent, they won. It is what it is.

He is a man that was not a part of any of this. I don’t like the effort that got him here, but I will lean on the fact that a higher plan brought him here. Human leadership is not the foundation of Dothan, so we’ll trust on the Real Leadership that Dothan deserves.

Let’s give him a chance to be the best we’ve ever had.

But be very serious about the upcoming election and who you vote for. I will be posting the specific names of who I trust in the future, I hope you will listen.

Fix our school board, fix our community!
