I’m Dave Stock and I’m running to be your Commissioner in District 4. You probably already know I’m a retired military pilot who’s built successful businesses and made significant improvements/investments in Downtown Dothan. Those things are true, but I also love our city and I genuinely care about our future!
Dothan deserves a commissioner who understands our challenges and has been involved in our community for years. While out campaigning people always ask me why I joined this race and the answer is pretty simple: I want to help Dothan become more efficient and successful and make our lives better and easier! I bring decades of senior program management and business experience, in addition to strategic leadership and planning skills, that we need on the commission and isn’t found in other departments.
From the day I joined this race I told everyone what I believe and why I’m running. I laid out a list of priorities that included better roads, stronger schools, less crime and homelessness, NO NEW TAXES, and support for my fellow veterans. I haven’t changed my message from day 1 and I was the first candidate to even publish a platform…That’s true leadership!
If you’ve talked with me or saw any candidate forums/debates I’m pretty certain you’d agree that I’m a leader who knows what we need to do to be successful, but I also have the wisdom to know what will hurt our community. I have the most life, career, and business experience of any candidate in the race and I promise to serve our city with honesty, integrity, transparency, and dedication.
I’m also going to serve as your commissioner for free because I feel it’s the right thing to do, and I want to help those charities that really need the money. I’m not doing it or telling you this to brag, but to show you that my heart is to serve our city and not make more money. I also decided to self-fund my campaign because I want you to know I’m loyal to our citizens, not a bunch of wealthy donors who are trying to buy influence in our government.
Elections have consequences and I sure hope our citizens realize I’m the only leader, innovator, and veteran who knows what’s going on and has a plan to fix it. I will stand up for what’s right and be your voice in our government, and I’ll be here to help if you have any issues. Please give me a chance to help our city…I won’t let you down. I respectfully ask for your vote this Tuesday!

Three Alabama attorneys were reprimanded and removed from a case after submitting court documents with fake citations generated by ChatGPT.
Three private attorneys representing Alabama’s prison system have been sanctioned and removed from a federal case after a judge found they submitted court filings containing fake case law generated by ChatGPT.
In a sharply worded order issued Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Anna Manasco reprimanded Matthew Reeves, William Cranford and William Lunsford of the Butler Snow law firm for citing nonexistent legal cases, what she called “hallucinations” produced by the AI chatbot.
“In simpler terms, the citations were completely made up,” Manasco wrote.
