   Mrs. Shirline Walkup Clark, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Clark will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Rhoades Cemetery in Kinston, Alabama, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

   Mrs. Clark was born October 27, 1941 in Santa Cruz, California to the late Benjamin Franklin Walkup and Martha Marie Cox Walkup. She attended Monterey High School in California. Her family moved to Montgomery in 1958 where she met and married Robert Roland Clark. She worked as a key-punch operator for the State of Alabama. In 1973 they moved to Ozark where she worked with White Knight Manufacturing, Dr. Robert Crosby Optometry and Winn Dixie. She retired from the Dale County Health Department in 2006. Mrs. Clark was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School, W. M. U. and Serving Hands Sewing and Quilting Group. She loved to bake and cook for her family, crochet, play softball and volleyball. She was an Alabama football fan and enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, playing rook, lake trips, road trips and traveling. She loved her fur-baby, Rodie.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Infant Ethel Walkup, Anita Keith and Wana Crisel; and four brothers, Danny Walkup, Bill Walkup, David Walkup and Bennie Walkup.

   Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Robert Clark of Ozark; one daughter, Shirley Bass (Chuck Gardner); two sons, Chuck Clark (Lisa) and Brady Clark (Nichole) all of Ozark; one twin sister, Sharline Tuggey (Fred) of California; one brother, Wayne Walkup (Diana) of Kingman, Arizona; six grandchildren, David Clark (Skye), Reid Cutshall (Kass), Robert Bonds (Macenze), Ashley Mostella (Justin), Sydney Matyjasik (Conner) and Matthew Bass; five great grandchildren, Brooklen Bonds, Taelor Bonds, Luna Matyjasik, Declan Bonds and Hayes Mostella.

   Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Rhoades Community House, C/O Lejune Davis, 3044 Highway 189, Kinston, Alabama 36453

Mr. Tommy Michael Davenport

  Mr. Tommy Michael Davenport, a resident of Ozark, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at his home. He was 65 years old.

   In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned for Mr. Davenport. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.

   Mr. Davenport was born March 21, 1960 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Kenneth and Rosa Anna Russell Davenport. His father was an Alabama State Trooper and in 1963 he was transferred to Ozark, where Tommy graduated from Carroll High School. Tommy was baptized at an early age at Hillcrest Baptist Church where he attended with his beloved Mother during his younger years. Tommy loved the outdoors. He played baseball along with his brother Bill but his passion was fishing, whether at the lake or a creek. He enjoyed his career as a house mover for many years. Tommy loved his family and was loved by them.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth K. Davenport Sr. (Erskine), Howard D. Davenport, Jimmy D. Davenport, Sr., and William Brady “Bill” Davenport, Sr. He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Smith of Newnan, Georgia and Abigail Davenport of Enterprise; three beautiful granddaughters; one sister, Nancy Haddan (Roger) of Ozark; one brother, Donald E. Davenport (Mark) of Orlando, Florida; and two sisters-in-law. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Gerald Whitehead of Geneva, AL passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was 82 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ronnie Baine officiating. Burial will follow in the Geneva City Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.. Flowers will be accepted.

Gerald was born on July 23, 1943 in Geneva, AL to the late Lee Ander and Callie Esther Ramer Whitehead. He retired from Ft. Rucker after 42 years of dedicated service to the Aircraft division. He was a Technical Aviation Inspector who enjoyed working on helicopters and being able to tell people anything about the aircraft. He didn’t mind talking to folks and sharing his knowledge. While still working at Ft. Rucker, he owned and operated his own cabinet shop where he made beautiful pieces that still grace homes today. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and working in his yards. He proudly served in the Alabama National Guard for as number of years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lee “Junior” Whitehead and James Whitehead, and one sister, Mary Nell Whitehead.

Gerald is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Diane Whitehead of Geneva, AL; one son, Chris Whitehead (Tasha) and one daughter, Leisa Sconiers (Dale), all of Westville, FL; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; twin brother, Earl Whitehead of Geneva, AL; two special nieces and a host of extended family and friends.

Mr. Robert “Bob” Frank Paulk, age 73, a resident of Dothan; died early Friday, May 16, 2025 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Duebelt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Christian Home Church of Christ Cemetery in Wicksburg with Glover Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Saturday prior to services at Glover Funeral Home Chapel.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to one’s favorite charity.

Bob was born on December 28, 1951 in Albany, Georgia the son of J. W. Paulk and Marjorie Emily Coleman Paulk.  He grew up in Dothan and was a 1970 Dothan High School Graduate.  Bob enjoyed fishing and was a University of Alabama fan.  He was active in the Cub Mobile Derby in Dothan for over forty years and he was owner of Paulk Service Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marsha Joan Watkins Paulk; infant son, Bradley Paulk and a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Hall.

Survivors include: two sons, Travis Kyle Paulk, Tallahassee, Florida; Jason LeBruce Paulk, Palm Springs, California; Special friend and business partner, Michael Earnhardt (Stacey), Taylor, Alabama; three grandchildren, Brooke Paulk, Caitlin Paulk and Noah Paulk; three brothers, Johnny Paulk (Rita) and Mike Paulk (Patsy) both of Dothan, Alabama; Jack Paulk (Deanna), Panama City, Florida; many cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and family members.

Pallbearers will be: Micah Earnhardt, Malachi Earnhardt, Will Chadwick, Andrew Chadwick, Hunter Chadwick, and Trey Hardy.

Durwood Eugene Hall peacefully passed away at his residence in Riverview, Florida, on May 15, 2025, at the age of 87 after a prolonged illness. Approximately four years prior, he and his family relocated from Birmingham, Alabama, to the Tampa Bay Area to be closer to his son, Dr. Jason Durwood Hall.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Ward Wilson Memory Hill in Dothan, AL, with Pastor Mike Grimes of Grandview Baptist officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m until the start of the service in the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Durwood is survived by his wife, Patricia Bond Hall of Riverview, FL; son, Dr. Jason Durwood Hall of Tampa, FL; two sisters-in-law Mrs. James (Pauline) Hall of Troy, AL, and Mrs. Donald (Geraldine) Hall of Dothan, AL; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Cora Kelly Hall; his brothers, Donald Hall and James Hall; his sister, Corine Gammon; and his nephew, Wayne Hall.

Mr. Hall was born on March 16, 1938, in Houston County, Alabama, to Clarence and Cora Kelly Hall. He completed his high school education in 1957 at Houston County High School in Columbia, AL. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Air National Guard in Dothan and embarked on a career in the construction sector, specializing in air conditioning and heating. He was employed by Smith’s, Inc. and Metcalf & Shiver in Dothan. Later, he joined the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union No. 52 in Montgomery, contributing to the construction of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant in Columbia, AL, and the Vogtle Nuclear Plant in Waynesboro, GA. He participated in shutdown operations at various nuclear power facilities across the southeast. After relocating to Birmingham, he spent several years with Industrial Chemicals before concluding his career with Wayne Welsh and his family.

Durwood was a member of Grandview Baptist Church and Selma Baptist Church of Dothan. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Grandview Baptist in 1967. On September 30, 1967, he married Patricia at Grandview Baptist. Durwood was incredibly talented and could do almost any kind of work in construction or mechanics. He remodeled each of our houses except the one in Tampa. He was a very genuine, hard-working, down to Earth, earnest man. He will be greatly missed and is much beloved by his family.

Mr. George L. Enfinger

 

 

 

George L. Enfinger passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at his home in Dothan, Alabama

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday, one hour prior to the service.

George was preceded in death by his loving parents, Herbert Bates and Sybil Glass Enfinger, and his aunts, Julia Ann Newton and Bobbie Fletcher. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his brother, Allen Enfinger (Monica), nephews, Stephen Beckworth (Kayla), Nick Beckworth (Mary), Chase Enfinger (Sarah), daughter, Carmen Johnson; grandsons, Shelton, Dallas, and JR Johnson, three great-nieces and two great-nephews.

George’s nature and loving heart were evident to all. He was a person who genuinely loved his family, forming an unbreakable bond with each member and creating a legacy of affection and unity. George’s love extended to his animals, especially his cherished pet, Bear, who was a constant and loyal companion. George was an avid Alabama fan.

His legacy of love and devotion will continue to flourish in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. George’s journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit remains a beacon of light in the lives of his family.
