Ms. Sandra Smith Carnes of Hartford passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Hartford HealthCare. She was 74.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Bedsole officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
Ms. Sandra was born on October 31, 1951, in Geneva County to the late Charlie Hick Smith and Myrtice L. Sawyer Smith. Sandra loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and worked at the Petro in Slocomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tammy Marie Smith; and her brothers, Jimmy Earl Smith and Charles Foley Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Fulford; sons, Colby Hutton (Melissa Herring) and Ricky Smith (Amy); grandchildren, Hunter Wilkerson (Autumn), Jaylynn Hutton, and Justin Hutton; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Porterfield (Dennis), Brenda Key (Dennis), and Carol Windham (Randy); brother, Michael Smith; sister-in-law, Jimmie Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Mildred Virginia (Medley) Gulledge, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at her residence. She was 90 years old.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Toole and Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Clayton Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Clayton Baptist Church. Mildred was born on April 26, 1936, in Blue Springs, Alabama, to the late Barry Comer and Lola Mae (Sanders) Medley. She was a 1954 graduate of Louisville High School. She retired from the Barbour County Revenue Commissioners Office and then worked for many years keeping books for her husband’s business, Gulledge Tractor Company. Mildred served as a board member for Dixie Academy where she served as board secretary. She wore many hats during her life and she wore them well.
Mildred officially retired on May 25, 2026, as a fantastic wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jewlean Green; two brothers, Curtis and Auburn Medley.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Oscar Gulledge; two sons, Jerry Gulledge (Amy) of Eufaula, Alabama and David Gulledge (Kim) of Clayton, Alabama; four grandchildren, Josh Gulledge (Abbe) of Harvest, Alabama, Haley Calhoun of Ariton, Alabama, Chelsey Hayford (Sam) of Mountain Brook, Alabama, and Cody Gulledge (fiance- Madison Copeland) of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Judd Gulledge, Campbell Gulledge, Georgia Kate Gulledge, Eliza Jane Gulledge, Kaylee Calhoun, Josie Hayford, and Hattie Drew Hayford; three sisters, Margarett Grubbs, Faye Hughes, and Shirley Smith (Richard); two sisters-in-law, Mary Joyce (Butch Prestwood) and Sandra Gulledge; and a host of nieces and nephews (special niece, Sara Hamm).

DOTHAN… Danny Morris, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 56.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 06, 2026 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee Springs, Alabama.
Mr. Morris was born in Orlando, Florida, to Alicia Ann Dills Morris and the late Billy Ray Morris. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army, carrying with him a strong sense of dedication and perseverance throughout his life. Following his military service, he spent many years working as a skilled HVAC technician, where he was known for his hard work, knowledge, and willingness to help others.
In his free time, Mr. Morris enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He was an avid pool player who loved both the competition and camaraderie of the game. He also had a deep appreciation for history and the outdoors, spending countless hours searching for and collecting arrowheads, a hobby he truly cherished.
Above all else, Mr. Morris dearly loved his children and treasured the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his many interests, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Along with his dad, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Morris.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his mom, Alicia Ann Morris; his children, Isabella Morris, Austin Morris, Bradley Morris and Zayne Morris; his sister, Sheila Diane Thornton (Doug) of Ematalia, FL; his brothers, Shannon Ray Morris (Diana) of Ematalia, FL, and Christopher Law (Kimberly) of Ashford, AL; best friend, Mike Gilley; several other loving family members and friends.
Mr. Ronnie W. Williams of Dothan passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family. He was 78 years old.
A Celebration of Life Service honoring Ronnie’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb.
Born on February 10, 1948, in Geneva County, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late John Henry and Velma Hall Williams. A proud graduate of Slocomb High School, Ronnie honorably served his country in the United States Army for 38 distinguished years before retiring in 2004. Following his military career, he faithfully served the City of Dothan for 25 years until his retirement.
Ronnie will be remembered as a man of unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He was a devoted husband, cherished father, grandfather, and proud great-grandfather whose presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him. His legacy of service, integrity, and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tracie Henry Williams; his children, Anthony Williams, Brandi Edmondson (Todd), and Madison Milner (John); his treasured grandchildren, Payton Ware (Mathis), Maycie Edmondson, Emma Edmondson, Mia Williams, and Henry Milner; great-granddaughter, Sims Ware; his siblings, Charles Wayne “Bill” Williams (Charlotte) and Beth Strength (Buford); along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Alan Kenneth Nobles, known to all as Alan, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 78.
He was born on July 27, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Percy and Eleanor Nobles, who preceded him in death. Alan lived a life marked by courage, devotion, and steady faith, and he will be remembered as a man who met each season of life with strength, purpose, and a generous spirit.
After graduating from high school, Alan entered the United States Navy, beginning a chapter of service that reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment to others. He completed four tours and served as a Navy air search and rescue specialist for four years, a role that required skill, discipline, and bravery. His military service remained an important part of his life, and those who knew him took pride in the dedication he showed to his country.
Following his military service, Alan pursued a career in nursing and later became a nurse anesthetist, a profession in which he served with excellence and compassion. He worked at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, spent 22 years in Montgomery, and served as Chief of Anesthesia at St. Margaret’s. He also worked at Maxwell Air Force Base and later continued his career in private practice in Montgomery. Then, he returned to Dothan and worked at Southeast Health before his retirement. Through each position, Alan earned respect for his professionalism, his calm presence, and his commitment to the care of his patients.
Alan was a man who stayed busy and embraced life with enthusiasm. He was a private pilot who loved to fly and proudly owned his own plane. He also enjoyed firearms, reading, especially the Bible, and learning about history. He was a lifelong student in many ways, always eager to understand more and to keep growing in knowledge. Traveling brought him joy, and he appreciated opportunities to see new places and experience new things. He also participated in mission trips, reflecting the faith that guided his life and the compassion he carried for others.
Those who knew Alan will remember that he was courageous, spirited, and deeply faith-filled. He lived with a strong sense of purpose and a willingness to face challenges with determination. His faith was evident in the way he lived, the way he served, and the way he loved his family and friends. He was a man of integrity and conviction, and his presence brought steadiness and encouragement to those around him.
Alan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia Nobles; his son, Ben Nobles and his wife, Judy; his grandchildren, Jackson Nobles and William Nobles; his brother, Jerry Nobles and his wife, Dee; and many friends and extended family members who loved him dearly. His family was a source of great joy in his life, and he cherished the time he spent with them.
Alan’s life was one of service, faith, and devotion. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, steadfast love, and a spirit that inspired others. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him, and his influence will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 in Sunset Memorial Park Chapel at 11:00 am with Pastor Chuck Locke officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Ola Bell Bryant was born on January 31, 1946, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Mr. Willie Mack and Mrs. Mayola Bryant.
She grew up in Dothan, attending the Dothan City School System before going on to earn her associate degree from Riley Business College. A woman of deep conviction, Ola Bell accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Bethesda Apostolic Faith Temple Church. She later became a dedicated member of Greater Beulah Baptist Church, where she shared her beautiful voice as a member of the church choir. Ola Bell was known for her strong work ethic, culminating in a successful 25-year career with GE, from which she retired with honors.
On September 5, 1992, Ola Bell married the love of her life and forever soulmate, Mr. Johnny Mack Brown. Together, they built a beautiful life defined by an enduring love that spanned 35 wonderful years.
Family was the center of Ola Bell Brown’s world. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her only son, Jerry, and an exceptionally proud grandmother to her grandson, “Jett,” who was truly Me Maw’s baby. Her warmth extended to her bonus children and granddaughter, as well as a special daughter whom she held dear to her heart.
Ola Bell Brown peacefully entered eternal rest, reunited with her loved ones who went before her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant; her two brothers, Edmond Bryant and Willie Earl Bryant; and her two sisters, Willie May Bryant and Zola Mae Bryant.
She leaves behind a rich legacy of LOVE and beautiful memories. Her spirit will live on through her devoted husband, Johnny Brown; her beloved son, Jerry E. Taylor Jr.; and her cherished grandson, Jerry E. “Jett” Taylor III. She is also survived by her two bonus children, Andre Brown and Tanesha Johnson; her bonus granddaughter, Kayla Brown; and her special daughter, Cyla F. Harrell. She will be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law, Joanna Watson (Val), Mary Ann Merrill, Margaret Napper, and Paula Baxter (Henry), alongside a host of loving nephews, nieces, extended relatives, and dear friends.
