Roland Walter Frary, of Samson, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 89.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Eddins and Rev. Joel Snell officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward directing.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL.

Roland was born June 24, 1936, in Jamestown, NY to the late Marion Wheaten and Florence Pauline Frary.  He was a man with great respect for his loving wife—Peggy Monk Frary for 57 years.  He was also a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend. He was a member of Holloway Tabernacle Assembly of God, and truly loved his church family.  Roland served His Country in the Navy from 1954-1969; Navy Reserve from 1971-1984; in May of 1984, he transferred to US Army Reserve to be closer to His family. He worked as a Helicopter Mechanic until he retired in 1996. For many years he was an Avid Runner.  He acquired the Nickname, “Snuff City Roadrunner.”  He ran in many, many 5k races across the state of Alabama and even some in Florida.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, his brother Roger Eckland & sister Marcia Soto.

Survived by his daughters Terry Philips, Susan Jones (Bobby), Regina Henderson (Jeff) and his sons Randy Frary, Ryan Frary (Nikki); grandchildren; Chris Frary, Echo Olive (Josh) Amber Lyles (Joe), Justin Henderson, Haley Cooper (Zach), Lacee Frary and Alyssa Frary; greatgrandchildren; Lila, Carleigh, Cheyenne, Connor (the one he prayed for and God granted his Prayer), Bennet & one very special niece and her husband, Vicky and Bob Norris.

Edward Marblestone, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and deeply respected member of the Dothan community, passed away peacefully on January 13 at the age of 86.

Ed was born on July 7, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. At summer camp, where he was affectionately known as “Tex,” Ed’s life took a meaningful turn at the age of fourteen when he met his childhood sweetheart, Roberta. That young friendship blossomed into a lifelong love story marked by devotion, partnership, and shared adventure. After marrying, Ed and Roberta moved to Dothan to begin their life together, where he joined the family auto parts business.

Ed dedicated more than forty years to Dothan Auto Parts, overseeing all operations with integrity, a strong work ethic, and genuine care for his customers and employees. He was widely respected not only for his business leadership, but for the way he treated people—with fairness, kindness, and honesty.

Ed lived his life guided by a strong sense of family, faith, and community. He was a member of the Dothan Rotary Club for over 50 years and served on the board of Landmark Park, generously giving his time and talents to causes close to his heart. A devoted member and past president of Temple Emanu-El, Ed’s faith was a steady and meaningful presence throughout his life.

Those who knew Ed will fondly remember his keen sense of humor and wit. He found immense joy in the outdoors, especially camping, hiking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and spending time in the mountains. Ed and Roberta shared a deep love of travel, enthusiastically exploring the world together and checking destinations off their wish list, creating memories that will be cherished by their family for generations. He shared his love of travel by taking all of his children and grandchildren on many camping trips, cruises and other family vacations.

Above all else, Ed was devoted to his family. He will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, passion and unwavering love for those closest to him.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta; his 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Jeff Weissman, Nancy Schusterman, Debra and David Blanke, and Laura and Brad Dowling; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, (Madeline Mesplay) Jake, and Gabby Weissman, Max and Molly Schusterman, Seth and Josh Blanke, and Sarah and Sophie Dowling; and his brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Susan Marblestone.

A graveside service will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery at Ward Wilson on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.

Virginia Carolyn Clark

Virginia Carolyn Clark, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Columbia, Alabama. Born on December 28, 1936, in North Carolina, Carolyn’s life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy that touched everyone she knew.

Carolyn was the cherished daughter of the late Aaron Moore and Nellie Louzinn Simmons Moore. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Raymond Paul Clark, and a loving mother to her sons, the late Raymond Derrick Clark and Bruce Lynn Clark, and her daughter, Dianne Clark. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts. Carolyn was also a beloved sister to Betty Yarborough and Katherine Moore, and a treasured friend to Sharon Danford, whose companionship brought her immense comfort and happiness.

Throughout her life, Carolyn’s hands were rarely still, as she found joy and purpose in the art of quilting, creating beautiful pieces that were as much a comfort to others as they were a testament to her skill and patience. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the meticulous care she took of her flower beds, where daylilies and azaleas bloomed under her attentive eye. Carolyn’s passion for farming and gardening was more than a hobby; it was a connection to the earth and to the cycles of life that she revered.

Carolyn’s love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She nurtured her children and grandchildren with the same love and care she gave to her plants and quilts. Her home was a haven of warmth and affection, where laughter and stories were shared, and memories were made. Fishing was another pastime that brought Carolyn great pleasure, providing her with quiet moments of reflection and an opportunity to be one with nature.

Carolyn’s life was a journey of resilience and grace. She faced the loss of her beloved husband and sons with a strength that inspired all who knew her. Her spirit, a blend of gentleness and fortitude, will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have felt her influence.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, January 16, 2026 from Memory Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Aleah Dixon officiating.

Rosa Mae Hendrix passed away on January 13, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 10, 1948, in Blakely, Georgia, Rosa lived a life grounded in hard work, kindness, and deep devotion to those she loved.

After many years of dedicated service, Rosa retired from Michelin in 1994. She was respected by her coworkers for her strong work ethic, dependability, and friendly spirit. Her involvement with various associations reflected her belief in community, teamwork, and supporting one another.

Rosa was known as a strong, selfless woman with a warm sense of humor that brought comfort and laughter to those around her. She took great pride in her family and found her greatest joy in time spent with her children and grandchildren. She also treasured her loyal dog, who was a constant companion and source of happiness.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer Roy and Rosa Frances Page; and her sister, Mary Ann Money.

She is survived by her son, Tracy Phillips (Kim); her daughter, Tammy Henderson (Rickey); her grandchildren, Daniel (Katie), Noah, Austin (Erica), Alexis, Jayden, and Deshaun; her great-grandchildren, Greyson and Gracie; and her nieces and nephews, Renee Lamb, Cindy Money, Jeri Money, and Nikki Blackmon (Tommy).

Rosa was a devoted grandmother who celebrated her grandchildren’s accomplishments and offered steady guidance and encouragement. Her love, strength, and gentle wisdom will continue to live on through them.

Rosa Mae Hendrix will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and quiet generosity will remain in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.

A celebration of Rosa’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Following the service on Friday, friends are invited to visit with the family at 1605 Montcliff Drive, Dothan, Alabama.

ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .John Wayne Hudson, a resident of Abbeville, passed away early Monday evening, January 12, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. He was 60.

There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

John Wayne Hudson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, son of the late Roy Marshall Hudson, Sr. and Mary Linda Boston Dollarhide. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after ten years service. John formerly lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Iowa before moving to Abbeville in 2016. He was formerly employed as a landscape laborer and in the restaurant business.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Terrie Pettis, Abbeville; his daughters, Brianna, April and Haley; his sons, Zachery Groves (Keara), Springfield, MO; and Matt Gentry, Cushing, OK; a sister, Tina Eason, and a brother, Roy Lane Hudson; several grandchildren.

HEADLAND. . .It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Brewer Bedsole, who departed this world peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026. Carol has entered Heaven and into the fullness of joy, receiving the crown of life.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Headland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:20 in the church sanctuary. Carol was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 2, 1941, and was 84. She was a graduate of Trenholm State Community College in Montgomery, AL where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Carol’s nursing career began at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a Pediatric Nurse for five years. She worked thirty years and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse with ENT Associates of Dothan.

Carol faithfully served more than fifty years in her church teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Many remember her as someone who never stopped finding joy with working with children.

A passion was cooking and baking. Through her generosity, kindness, hospitality, and willingness to serve, Carol touched countless lives-often with something warm from the oven and a heart ready to care for others. She truly was a woman of sincere faith.

Carol’s  greatest passion was her family, who loved her dearly.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Harold B. Brewer, her mother, Helen Stocker Brewer, her step-mother, Myrtle Luick Brewer, two brothers, Chuck Brewer and Butch Brewer, a half-brother, Virgil Brewer and a step-brother, Merle Luick.

Surviving relatives include her husband of sixty-seven years, Thomas Bruce Bedsole, Sr.; a daughter, Nancy Bynon (Steve), Houston, TX; two sons, Tommy Bedsole, Dothan; and Steve Bedsole (Cathy), Hilton Head Island, SC; a sister, Joyce Lenz (Art), Headland; a half-brother, Gary Luick; grandchildren, Trae Bedsole (Becky), Troy Bedsole (Faith), Ashley Caldwell (Doug), Conner Bynon, Rachael Gannon (Jim), and Rebecca Dill (Derek); great-grandchildren, Thomas Bedsole, Sarah Michael Bedsole, Oliver Bedsole, Collins Caldwell, Kade Gannon, Cooper Dill and Addie Dill.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jack Freeman, Steve Freeman, Trae Bedsole, Troy Bedsole, Brian Forshee and Conner Bynon.
