On 10/03/2025 at approximately 10:58am. The Headland Police Department received a 911 call for assistance at Greentree Apartments in Headland, Al. The 911 call stated multiple gunshots and gunshot victims at the location. Upon arrival officers found (2) two male subjects with gunshot wounds. One male subject was transported by the Headland Fire and Rescue to the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The second male had multiple fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at scene. Headland Police officers took one suspect into custody several apartments down from the scene. The Headland Police Department arrested and charged Shaun Michael Davis black male D.O.B 03/29/2006 of 300 Boynton Street Headland, Alabama with one charge of Capital Murder and one charge of Assault 2nd degree. Mr. Davis was booked into the Henry County Jail under NO BOND. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department partnered with the Headland Police Department to bring this case to its closure. Also assisting in the investigation was the Dothan Police Department’s Crime Scene Division. We would like to thank the Kinsey Police Department, ALEA, Headland Fire and Rescue, and Sheriff Eric Blankenship and his Investigation task force for all the assistance provide to help solve this case. It is a great honor to work in this area where all Law enforcement of different agencies come together to serve the citizens and provide a safe environment to live in. I want to personally thank Chief Will Benny of the Dothan Police Department for the professional assistance his Officers provided to solve this case. I also want to thank Sheriff Eric Blankenship of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department for all his departments’ assistance as well as his Tactical Team for help solving this case so quickly. This is a great example of all departments coming together for the same purpose.
HEADLAND: 11:00 AM Headland Police and Henry County Sheriff Department are on the scene of firearm assault at Greentree Apartments in Headland.
One person has been transported to Southeast Health by Headland Fire – Rescue. One person is deceased on the scene. Both Headland Fire – Rescue and Abbeville Fire – Rescue are on the scene and staged.
A large area of crime scene tape is up in many areas of the apartment complex.

Headland Police to include Chief Mark Jones, Henry County Sheriff Department to include Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Kinsey Police to include Chief Jim Mock, ALEA Trooper Spencer Adkinson and multiple Headland Police and Henry County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene.
Henry County Sheriff SRT Unit on the scene. They have hit an apartment where suspect(s) were possibly located. The SRT unit used flash bangs but suspect(s) was not present.
There is one person deceased on the scene. One person transported to Southeast Health. Possibly two suspects in the shooting. A vehicle which a BOLO was issued is on the scene with crime scene tape.
Dothan Police Crime Scene Tech’s have been requetsed and responding to assist in the investigation.

Chad Sowell, representing Headland Police Department, gave a brief statement in what has taken place so far. Henry County Coroner Derek Wright is on the scene.
One suspect is in custody at this time.
The schools were on lockdown due to the scene being near the scene. The schools have been taken off lockdown.
Columbia Police Chief and another Kinsey Police Officer is on the scene.
HEADLAND: On Thursday Alabama State Representative Rick Rehm and RC & D hosted a hamburger and hotdog cook out at Douglas Park for First Responders.
Members of Headland Police Department, Headland FIre – Rescue, Headland Mayor Jody Singleton, Newville Police, Abbeville Police, Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship and members of Henry County Sheriff Department, Henry County Emergency Management, some volunteer fire departments to include Shortville Volunteer Fire Chief were present.
Representative Rehm had to go backs set up for agencies to carry some food back to the ones working who could not attend.
Rehm told the first responders how much he appreciates and supports each of them for the work they do. Often times the first responders are not appreciated as much until the actual emergencu takes place. And that came to play during the luncheon. All of a sudden Headland Police, Headland Fire – Rescue, and Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship and members of Henry County Sheriff Department all of a sudden took off, lights and siren, from the park. The call came in about the person on Henry County 45 which was found with a gunshot wound. The first responders rolled, Headland Fire – Rescue provided care for the patient, they picked up flight medics with Survival Flight and transported the victim to Southeast Health. The last reports were he was in surgery. There is no reported foul play involved.
While showing appreciation the true life dedication was a reality when the call hit and they rolled.
8:48 a.m. On Highway 84 West and County Road 445 there is a critical injury accident involving a motorcycle and car. One vehicle is on fire and part of the roadway is closed at this time.

DALE COUNTY/LEVEL PLAINS: On Thursday Ozark – Dale County 911 dispatched a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Highway 84 at County Road 445 in Dale County near Level Plains. Reports to 911 the motorcycle was on fire.
Lovetown Volunteer Fire Chief Jimmy Dixon was passsig ny immediately after the accident and attempted to extinguish with a fire extinguisher. Level Plains Volunteer Fire Department responded and finished putting the fire out. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene by Dale County Coroner John Cawley.
Multiple Dale County Sheriff Deputies, to include Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, responded. ALEA – Trooper responded and was in charge of the accident investigation. Level Plains Police also responded to the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle, who lost his life, has been indentified as Christopher Dana Cote, age 56, of Enterprise Alabama.
The driver of the vehicle was detained by ICE Officials and transported by ICE to a Montgomery lockup facility.
DOTHAN: 8:23 PM. Dothan 911 dispatched a two vehicle accident at Cottonwood Road and Ross Clark Circle. Reports to Dothan 911 one vehicle was overturned with entrapment.
Dothan Fire Engine Company 4 ( Southside ), Engine Company 1 ( Central ), Truck 1 ( Central ), Batallion 1 ( Central ) and Pilcher Ambulance responded.
On arrival of Dothan Fire Engine Company 4 they reported a two vehicle accident with major damage.
The overturned vehicle was sitting upright on arrival. There were two patients in the vehicle. Extrication was required. Both patients were transported by Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Fire, emergency, trauma alert.
The other vehicle the driver was not injured.
Houston County Sheriff Deputy Goldsmith assisted and ALEA Trooper Sanders also assisted. Trooper Sanders was near the intersection when the accident occurred.
Dothan Police is in charge of the accident investigation.
HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala., Sept. 16 — The Alabama Farmers Federation announced its endorsement today of Rep. Paul Lee for Alabama House District 86, which is in Houston County.
“Rep. Lee is an outstanding public servant and has always been accessible to his constituents,” said George Jeffcoat, president of the Houston County Farmers Federation. “He is a commonsense conservative who understands our issues, and we are proud to continue to support his service in Montgomery.”
Lee attended Wallace State Community College. He worked with Sony’s Magnetic Tape Division for 30 years and is presently the executive director of Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center Inc. He also served as a Dothan City councilman for five years.
Lee is chairman of the House Health Committee and serves on the General Fund Committee and Legislative Council.
Lee is involved in multiple civic and charitable organizations such as United Way, Dothan Rotary Club, Alabama Municipal Electric Authority and the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of such a hard-working group of people,” said Lee. “I look forward to continuing to work with them to make District 86 an even better place to live, work and raise a family.”
Rep. Lee and his wife, Ellen, have been married for 44 years. They have one married daughter and one granddaughter. They are members of Logos Baptist Church.
