Ethel Mae Armstrong

Ethel Mae Armstrong

Ethel Mae Armstrong, affectionately known as Mae, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 71.

Born on October 22, 1954, in Salem, New Jersey, Mae carried with her throughout life the values of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She was the daughter of the late Troy Carr and Elizabeth Adkinson Carr. In 1989, she made Dothan her home, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and the simple joys that gave her days meaning.

Mae was a woman whose family was truly her heart. She loved deeply and gave freely, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her life was marked by selflessness and generosity, and those who knew her will remember the warmth of her spirit and the comfort of her presence. She had a gentle way of making others feel cared for, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mae found joy in the beauty of everyday life. She loved plants and flowers and took pleasure in nurturing the things around her with care and attention, even though she didn’t necessarily have a green thumb. This love reflected the way she lived her life, with tenderness, purpose, and appreciation for the world she helped make brighter. Whether spending time with family or tending to the things she loved, Mae approached life with grace and sincerity.

She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Armstrong; her son, Bill Lloyd Armstrong III and his wife, Sheree; and her cherished grandchildren, Mariah Algarin, Bill Lloyd Armstrong IV, and Jarrod David Armstrong and his wife, Hope. Mae also leaves behind Lucy, her beloved four-legged companion, who brought her companionship and comfort. Her family will forever treasure the memories they shared with her, along with the lessons of love, patience, and devotion she passed on through her example.
